Microsoft announced a refresh of Photos for Windows 11 on 15 October. The rollout starts with Windows Insiders, with general availability planned for later this year.

Gallery, editor and viewer

The update brings local pictures, OneDrive and iCloud into a gallery and redesigns the editing and viewing tools. Some features depend on hardware or connected services.

Organising photographs is part of the travel experience too. I am interested in tools that help us find a memory without opening hundreds of folders. Before switching applications, it is worth testing search with our own collection and keeping an independent backup.
